The Original K6-3 bulletproof helmet (under the GRAU 6B6-3 index) is designed to protect fighters from pistol shots in the second armor protection class and from 1 gram trowels flying up to 750 m / s. The helmet is made of titanium in 3 mm and has a cap comforter made of aramid fabric. The front part of the fighter is protected by a visor made of titanium in the court there is an insert made of polycarbonate or quartz glass in several layers. The first frames for fixing the glass had a rubber base, later they got a titanium frame. The visor provides protection against pistol bullets and fragments of the first class of armor protection. The aramid cap comforter also provides protection against bullets, and also dampens the cartridge’s momentum so that the fighter does not get a shell shock. Helmet body is monolithic, without seams. The helmet was issued by the Steel Research Institute in 2014. The K6-3 helmet is a copy of the Altyn helmet, which was intended for special units of the KGB (hereinafter the FSB). The Steel Research Institute did not have the right to release Altyn for sale, and therefore they created a commercial version with the name K6-3. The K6-3 helmet differs from Altyn in that it does not have a radio headset on the outside of the helmet.
